We are seeking passionate GPs who want to contribute to the health of remote and rural Kimberley residents working at our NEW purpose built Centre in Kununurra, work alongside a remarkable enthusiastic team lead by Dr Stephanie Trust, Clinical Director & local Kidja woman.

Wunan Foundation is a leading Aboriginal development organisation based in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Its purpose is to ensure that Aboriginal people enjoy the capabilities and opportunities necessary to make positive choices that lead to independent, fulfilling lives.
Wunan delivers the Disability Advocacy Officer Program in the East Kimberley.
Wunan is seeking a Male and a Female applicant for 2 part time positions.
Make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in the Kimberley. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated advocate to join our team in Kununurra.
As a disability advocate, you will provide support, advice and representation to people with disabilities to help them assert their rights, access services and live more independently.
Key Duties
- Assist people to test for NDIS eligibility – including support letter collection, gathering ID and helping create and attend doctor appointments
- Assist approved NDIS participants with planning and support coordination
- Connect participants access Telehealth and work with therapists to assist families with offline therapy exercises
- Attend meetings, book appointments and make representations with and on behalf of the client, part will also call for a more systemic review and mapping of trends and gaps in service provision across the region.
- Maintain professional boundaries and manager perceive potential and actual conflict of interest and risk mitigation strategies, inclusive of strong problem solving skills.
- Negotiate verbally and in writing on behalf of clients, including people experiencing cognitive disabilities or speech difficulties, and their family members I supports
- Network with key community and government agencies
- Work in a culturally safe manner with indigenous Australians and in remote Kimberley communities
- Work with the broader Wunan Health and Wunan team in the improvement of services to disability clients in the region
