We’re now using HotDoc Payments

**Important Update: New Payment Process**

From July 2026, Wunan Health has introduced HotDoc Payments to securely manage payments for appointments and missed appointment fees.

This change has been implemented to help reduce outstanding accounts while providing patients with a secure, convenient, and contactless payment experience.

How HotDoc Payments work:

  • When you book an appointment online, by phone, or in person, you’ll receive an SMS or email from HotDoc asking you to securely enter your credit or debit card details before your appointment.
  • This message is safe and secure, and your card details are protected by HotDoc.
  • Your card details are used to confirm your booking. No payment will be taken before your appointment.
  • Before your appointment, a temporary hold will be placed on your card for the estimated cost of your consultation.
  • After your appointment, only the correct consultation fee will be charged.
  • If the amount held is more than the cost of your consultation, the remaining balance will be released back to your card. The time this takes may vary depending on your bank.

As we introduce this new payment system, there may be some minor issues during the changeover. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we get everything running smoothly.

If you are concerned that your appointment may have been cancelled in error, or if you have any questions about your booking, please contact our friendly team on (08) 9168 1001. We will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Extended hours to continue at Wunan Health

Following the uptake of the 2026 early morning dry season clinics, we will look to continue these until end of September 2026.

The GP clinic will have appointments available from 7.00am with a Doctor on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

*For appointments between 7.00am – 8.00am we will not be able to bulk bill appointments but we are able to process a claim for a Medicare rebate for you. Rebates will result in an average out of pocket cost of $57 – $64.

For more details on how to book or if you need an early morning appointment please contact reception on 9168 1001.

Recognition of Leadership in Rural Health

In October 2025, Wunan Health’s Practice Manager, Suzette Chemello was recognised nationally for her leadership and contribution to rural healthcare, receiving the Outstanding Contribution to Rural Practice Management award from the ACRRM – Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

Suzette has worked in Kununurra and led Wunan Health for more than a decade. During this time, she has played a central role in strengthening service delivery, workforce stability and training pathways within the practice, supporting the delivery of high-quality primary healthcare in a remote regional setting.

Under her leadership, Wunan Health has supported the training of more than 20 GP Registrars, welcomed rural generalists and general practitioners, and developed a strong workplace culture recognised across the sector.

ACRRM President Dr Rod Martin says Suzette is also recognised for the culture she has built within the clinic.

“Suzette’s contribution goes far beyond administration,” Dr Martin says. “Known as the “heart of the practice,” she fosters a workplace where staff feel supported, connected, and cared for — creating a positive environment that has underpinned the clinic’s success and stability, and has kept her community connected. “We are proud to honour her with this award.”

The Outstanding Contribution to Rural Practice Management Award is one of ACRRM’s highest honours, celebrating leaders who combine innovation with long-term dedication to rural and remote healthcare.

The Wunan Health team are very proud and honoured to be named a finalist in the upcoming EK Business Excellence Awards in the category ‘For Community Purpose’.

Connected Health

You might see someone you know in this video.

A family member. A friend. A colleague.

Maybe even yourself.

Over the past few months, we’ve worked alongside our East Kimberley community to create IMPOWERED. The campaign brings together the people and values that shape Wunan’s work across the region.

Guided by Ian Trust, the video steps through who we are, what we do, and how our work connects across leadership, learning, employment, health, housing and enterprise.

You’ll see this reflected throughout the campaign series:

Our leaders shaping decisions and driving change ➡️

Our learners building knowledge for life 📖

Our workers stepping into meaningful jobs ⚙️

Our carers supporting health, wellbeing and connection 🤍

Our families creating stability and opportunity 🏘️

Our communities building strong, self-determined futures 🌿

IMPOWERED shows how the many parts of Wunan work together, and how we work alongside our community to support strong, self-determined futures across the East Kimberley.
